Our Pastor, Jeff Underwood was called to preach in November of 1989 and preached his first message on December 315, 1989. He is a graduate of Glenville State College University with an Associate Degree in Forestry and Bachelor Degree in Business Administration. After graduating college, Jeff took a job with E & H Manufacturing, Inc., and also became the Youth Pastor at Two-Mile Grove Missionary Baptist Church. While continuing to work, in order to further his Bible education, Jeff attended evening classes at Huntington Bible Institute and completed their certificate program.

In May of 1992 Jeff married the love of his life Kimberly (Keen) Underwood and the Lord has blessed them with three children. Kim has been a tremendous blessing in Jeff's life and ministry and faithfully supports and encourages him. In the fall of 1993 Leatherwood Missionary Baptist Church called Jeff to be their Pastor and he was led by the Lord to accept the position.

Although our Pastor is bi-vocational (meaning he works a secular job in addition to being Pastor), he realizes he is the full-time Pastor of Leatherwood Missionary Baptist Church. He loves the people of Leatherwood Baptist Church and the surrounding community. His desire is for Christians to grow in the Lord and for sinners to be saved. Jeff strives to study and preach the Word of God every Sunday Morning and Evening praying Christians will grow in the Lord and sinners will repent and be saved. He also teaches a Bible study on Wednesday nights.
